From August 14–17, 2025, members gathered for a laid-back yet adventure-filled weekend in the stunning Oldman River area of Southern Alberta. With no cell service and no power hookups, this true back-to-basics experience offered the perfect chance to fish and connect with other members.
Days were spent exploring the region’s legendary rivers, including the Oldman, the Livingstone, as well as Dutch Creek and Racehorse creek. Fishing in the mountains has been more challenging than usual this year, but it made every fish caught even more rewarding. Evenings brought everyone together around the campfire for games, laughter, and the inevitable swapping of fishing stories, as well as prizes of giftcards, flies, pre-made fly boxes, books, and other gear.
One of members even caught their very first fish this weekend! It was amazing to share in the joy of a first fish with the othe women.
The peaceful setting, paired with the sound of the river and mountain views, made this a truly memorable getaway. A big thank you to everyone who came out—we hope to see you again next year for more fish, fun, and friendship!
