President

The President (preferably a former board member) is responsible for overseeing the club’s governance and overall operations, ensuring alignment with its mission, values, and member needs. As the primary decision-maker and external representative, they lead the board and committees by managing the organization’s workplan, monitoring progress, and coordinating resources to address challenges. Key duties include regularly reviewing club emails, identifying and prioritizing action items, developing strategic board meeting agendas, and chairing meetings in accordance with governance protocols. Additionally, the President supports other board members as needed and maintains an active presence at events and community initiatives. Please note that we have a current board member seeing this position.

Estimated Time Commitment: 5-10 hours/month

 

Vice President

The Vice President supports the President and helps lead club operations, stepping in as acting chair when the President is unavailable. This role offers an opportunity to gain experience across the club’s functions while contributing to strategic initiatives and event planning. With flexible responsibilities, the Vice President takes on additional duties as needed, allowing the role to adapt to both the club’s needs and the individual’s interests while building leadership capacity.

Estimated Time Commitment: 5-7 hours/month

 

Secretary

The Secretary ensures effective communication, accurate documentation, and adherence to governance requirements within the club. This role is responsible for maintaining meeting minutes, records, managing official correspondence, and fulfilling legal reporting obligations such as AGM filings and bylaw updates. Key duties include organizing and documenting board meetings, overseeing collaboration tools like Google Workspace, managing communications, and tracking action items to ensure decisions and responsibilities are properly recorded and followed through. Please note that we have a current board member seeing this position.

Estimated Time Commitment: 5 hours/month

 

Treasurer

The Treasurer is responsible for managing the club’s finances to ensure fiscal sustainability and accountability. This includes overseeing budgeting, financial reporting, and the accurate tracking of income and expenditures, while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and best practices. The Treasurer safeguards financial records, supports audits or reviews, files required financial statements, and conducts forecasting to guide decision-making. They also develop and monitor a budget that aligns with the club’s goals and the needs of its members, while identifying opportunities for cost savings. Please note that we have a current board member seeing this position.

Recreation Coordinator

The Recreation Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing recreational programming for club members. This includes coordinating events within budget and time constraints, securing venues, managing logistics, securing volunteers and ensuring smooth event execution. The role also involves supporting events in person as often as possible and evaluating outcomes to provide feedback and recommendations that help improve future programming. Please note that we have a current board member seeing this position.

Estimated Time Commitment: 5-10 hours/month
