Join us for a day of adventure in beautiful Kananaskis as we hike to Picklejar Lakes.
Whether you're an experienced angler or completely new to fly fishing, this outing is a great opportunity to build outdoor skills, enjoy mountain scenery, and connect with other women who share a passion for nature.
CWFF members - join us, Sat July 25, for a day of adventure in beautiful Kananaskis as we hike to Picklejar Lakes. Cost is $10 and you will receive a couple flies at the lake.
Whether you're an experienced angler or completely new to fly fishing, this outing is a great opportunity to build outdoor skills, enjoy mountain scenery, and connect with other women who share a passion for nature.
Trip Details
Meeting Location/time: provided to those who register
Hiking Distance: Approximately 9 km round trip
Elevation Gain: ~400 m
Hiking Time: 2-3 hours each way (~5 hours hiking total)
Target Species: Native Westslope Cutthroat Trout inhabit two of the four lakes
What to Bring
• Fishing license
• Kananaskis pass
• Sturdy hiking footwear
• Bear spray
• Water and lunch/snacks
• Fishing gear and flies
The Picklejar Lakes trail offers beautiful mountain views of the Highwood Range. The trail is well worn but quite steep in sections, consider it moderate - hard. We'll take our time, share fishing tips, and enjoy a relaxed day in the outdoors.
Space is limited (15 max) - so log in and register asap. Registration deadline is Friday, July 24 at noon.
