2025 Virtual CWFF Annual General Meeting

Join us for the Calgary Women Fly Fishers Club Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday, April 15, 2025!

This virtual meeting will include important updates on the future of our club, and we’d love for you to be a part of it. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Voting on the Board for the 2025-2026 Season: Help us elect new board members to guide the club for the upcoming season.

  • Bylaw Updates: We’ll be reviewing proposed changes to our bylaws. Your participation is crucial as we make decisions that shape our future.

  • Year in Review & Plans Ahead: We’ll reflect on our accomplishments over the past year and share exciting plans for the upcoming season.

  • Acknowledging Our Supporters: We’ll take a moment to recognize and thank all those who have supported our club throughout the year.

  • Special Guest Speaker: We are thrilled to welcome members from iFishiBelong who will inspire and engage us with valuable insights on advocacy and inclusion in the fly fishing community. The presentation is titled The iFishiBelong JEDI Journey: Advocacy in Action. This session will explore the ongoing work around Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) and how these principles have been integrated into iFishiBelong’s mission, alongside their collaborations with United Women on the Fly, Ubuntu Fly Anglers, and the Becca Sue Klein All Kids Fish programs.

    • Bob Bartlett (Co-Founder of Ubuntu Fly Anglers, environmental advocate, storyteller, and fly fishing expert)

    • Heather Hodson (Founder and President of iFishiBelong, passionate advocate for a more inclusive and equitable fishing industry)

    • J. Michelle Swope (Advocacy Chair of iFishiBelong, environmental activist, and fly fishing instructor)
They’ll share insights into the challenges faced, mistakes made, and lessons learned while continuing the work of advocacy and inclusion. Expect an open discussion that will leave you with actionable advice on integrating advocacy into your own spaces.

  • Special Giveaway: One lucky attendee will win a half-day float generously donated by Out There Fly Fishing!
